Netflix original tv series.
Plot: James is 17 and is pretty sure he is a psychopath. Alyssa, also 17 is a cool and moody new girl at school. The pair make a connection and she persuades him to embark on a road trip in search of her real father.
There is only 8 episodes and each episode is about 30 minutes. Hubby and I were able to see all of them in one night.
It’s your basic movie about life as a teenager. Peer pressure, having a dad who is a single father, mom who remarries and has twins, runaways, murder and a cliff hanger ending.
I enjoyed the movie and the actors playing James and Alyssa were perfect for their roles. Hubby heard great reviews and suggested to watch it. I have to give kudos to Netflix for a job well done.
Some people may have different opinions but it doesn’t hurt to give it a watch.
I give it 👍👍👍👍👍.
Time sure flew by and Season 7 has begun. Last night was the first episode and it started out with bang!
Such happiness to hear the theme song and watch the map during the opening credits. What was added on the map is the Citadel.
I’m looking forward to the next six episodes, yes “six” episodes and see what this season holds for us avid fans. Woo hoo!
I’ve read a few books written by Stephen King (Needful Things) and I’m familiar with the movies and television shows that were based on his books and short stories.
Television shows such as “Haven” based on King’s Colorado Kid was cancelled and “Under the Dome” were cancelled. I’ve watched both shows and I liked them. But I’ve never read the books.
Latest television show is “The Mist”. Another shorty story, the show takes place 10 years after the movie theatre version back in 2007. Judging by the commercial, it seems a bit gory and true horror. I’m not sure if I’m going to watch this one.
The Dark Tower series will makes it theatre debut on August 4th. I just bought the book, so that I know the plot. I saw the trailer and it looks GOOD. I can’t wait!
I know I’m giving off my age, but I grew up with such shows as Solid Gold with the Solid Gold dancers, American Bandstand and Soul Train. I would watch the shows with my siblings.
Now you have MTV’s “America’s Dance Crew”, “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Dancing With the Stars”. I enjoy watching the art of dance. I even saw MTV’s “America’s Dance Crew” winners, the Jabbawockeez in Las Vegas. They were awesome in person!
Up and coming show “World Of Dance” with Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough, Jenna Dewan Tatum and Ne Yo as judges. If there isn’t anything good on television that night, I MIGHT watch it.
I was searching for Solid Gold on YouTube and surprisingly, there was this show called “Live To Dance” six years ago, that had three of the original Solid Gold Dancers auditioning. They still have the moves.
Limited series on HBO. I didn’t know this was based on a book. Wikipedia had a synopsis on the storyline. I won’t give any spoilers away.
The series begins with a news conference regarding a murder. The teachers and staff at an elementary school are talking about the parents. The main characters (Madeline “Reese Witherspoon”, Celeste “Nicole Kidman”, Jane “Shaylene Woodley” and supporting characters, Bonnie “Zoe Gravitz” and “Renata “Laura Dern” just to name a few) have children that go there.
It is not revealed who was killed but it was revealed how the person was killed. There are flashbacks that tie in with the teachers talking about events and accusations about the parents involved.
I’ve seen 4 episodes and there were only 7. Television or movie versions are not like the book. I’ve read all the books for “Game of Thrones” and the HBO series went a different direction than the books.
I liked this series. According to IMDB, it says Season 1 and the last episode’s plot has not been revealed. Will there be a Season 2?
The Oscar goes to?? I’ve only seen one movie that was nominated, “Hidden Figures”. It was the first movie I’ve seen in 2017. I truly enjoyed it! I hope it wins at least one Oscar.
I watch the awards just to see what the stars are wearing. I’m sure there will be a lot of controversy and political statements.
It’s starting in 17 minutes. We are going to record it, watch it after dinner and fast forward the commercials.
This is the latest new show on FX based on a Marvel comic with the same name. Season 1 has eight episodes.
I’ve seen the first one and here are my thoughts..
Show begins with a Who song and you see the main character David Haller as a baby, then his childhood, teen years and then an adult. As you see him growing, in the background things are in slow motion and a bit blurry. David is in the center of all this. As I watch this, I’m thinking “this reminds me so much of the movie Watchmen“. There is a scene in Watchmen, where each hero is murdered and Bob Dylan’s song is being heard and things are in slow motion.
As Legion plays out, we see that David is hearing voices in his head and is admitted to a psychiatric hospital after he tried to hang himself. Name of the hospital was “Clockworks Psychiatric”. There was a cult movie called “Clockwork Orange”, which I’ve seen once as a kid and am familiar with the storyline. The main character played by Malcolm McDowell was admitted to a psych ward.
There is a character name Sydney “Syd Barrett” and my husband pointed out that it’s the name of a band member from Pink Floyd who suffered from a mental illness.
Is David crazy or is it his supernatural powers? Is this all in his mind or is it real? In David’s mind, everyone seems to be from the late 60’s judging by the hairstyles and clothes. Then in some scenes, there are objects that are from this century. There was one quirky scene or dream sequence where Syd and David are dancing Bollywood with those in the psych ward.
Not sure where the storyline for this show is going, but it will be interesting to see the other seven episodes.
